Why open a clinic focusing only on anxiety?
We decided to open Anxiety House because we wanted to focus on one area rather than all mental health problems. Our clinical psychologists then choose an area of interest within the field of anxiety disorders (e.g. OCD, child anxiety, and pregnancy related anxiety). Our approach is reflected in our vision statement which simply states “striving for excellence”. At Anxiety House we love what we do and we want you to reach your full potential in life!
Can I still be referred to Anxiety House if anxiety is not my only issue?
Anxiety disorders are one of the most common mental health problems. It is very common for people with anxiety disorders to have other difficulties as life can get very hard when you are battling worrying thoughts. Nearly one-half of those diagnosed with anxiety are also diagnosed with a depressive disorder. Other common co-occurring disorders include: eating disorders, substance use issues, other anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and relationship and work issues. To seek treatment at Anxiety House the main issue must be anxiety, but we also treat the other issues that contribute to your overall distress.
We look forward to working with you.
